Nina Victoria Gallagher is a healthcare professional and business woman, and the Founder and Managing Director of Nina Torina® Lifestyle Medicine, which incorporates her Clinical Consultancy and Online Store. The foundation of her clinical practice is Naturopathic Osteopathy, however, her consulting practice incorporates all her advanced post graduate training specialisms including: Functional Medicine, Skin Health Solutions and Life Coaching. With over 20 years of experience in clinical practice and continuous post graduate study, she has enhanced her professional qualifications, breadth of knowledge and clinical skillset in healthcare. This supports her ability to provide comprehensive healthcare solutions for all her patients.
Nina Victoria, attended the prestigious British School of Osteopathy (BSO) and British College of Naturopathy and Osteopathy (BCNO), which is part of the University of Westminster in London. The five year honours degree programme is underpinned by rigorous academic and clinical training, as well as the completion of a research dissertation. In her research, she investigated the incidence of back pain in performing arts students with the Italia Conti School of Performing Arts in London.
Nina Victoria graduated with a BSc. (Honours) in Osteopathic Medicine, Diplomas in Osteopathy and Naturopathy. Although she had the opportunity to stay in London, following graduation she decided to return home to Fixby in Huddersfield, Yorkshire and founded The Fixby Osteopathic Practice, which later became Fixby Osteo®.
The advent of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 created the need to re-think the future direction of her clinical practice. After a thorough risk assessment the creation of new Covid-Secure clinical practice became necessary. So now looking to the future her beautiful new clinical practice is based in Lindley, Huddersfield. The surroundings are tranquil and relaxed, with on-site parking. The access is easy from all parts of Huddersfield, Brighouse, Elland and Halifax. And situated only three minutes from junction 24, M62, Leeds, Manchester and the rest of Yorkshire are also easily accessible.
In the early years of her career and while developing her own practice, she worked as an associate in a variety of different clinical settings; including a large fund holding GP practice in Doncaster, private practices in Sheffield and Otley which specialised in sports injuries and she was part of the healthcare teams at two large multidisciplinary practices in Leeds. These positions provided an excellent opportunity to develop her professional skills, gain vast experience while treating hundreds of patients, as well as learning practice management skills and creating excellent relationships with medical doctors, NHS and private consultants and surgeons and complementary healthcare practitioners.
Through her undergraduate training in the principles and practice of naturopathic osteopathy and her ongoing post graduate training, Nina Victoria has had the privilege to be taught by many of the most inspirational and influential osteopaths, naturopaths, medical doctors and thought-leaders, in the fields of Osteopathic and Naturopathic Medicine, Functional Medicine and Skin Health, as well as Life Coaching. This drive, passion and never-ending enquiry within her professional and personal life, has lead to the development of a unique, integrated approach to natural, but scientifically proven and research based healthcare and personalised health and wellbeing skill set and philosophy and using her knowledge and continuing professional education in the mind/body field to improve and enhance the health and wellbeing of all her patients.
A particular interest in golf injuries has developed in parallel with her osteopathy and golf, which is one of her sporting passions! – She has attended many post graduate courses on golf injury, nutrition, development of exercise programmes and psychological performance coaching in golf, at the PGA Headquarters at the Belfry, Woodhall Spa and Forest of Arden Golfing Academies. These skills she is using to develop a programme in ‘Golf Performance’ to enable golfers at all levels be fitter and improve their performance both mentally and physically on the golf course.
She regularly practices, Tai Chi, yoga, ballet and pilates, and has a passion for body-building which began at the age of 17. She is a highly competent golfer and skier and more recently has reignited her passion for tennis and horse riding.
Over the years she has written articles on osteopathic and naturopathic healthcare for the British Osteopathic Association (now iO), publications such as Woman’s Own and The Natural Health Directory and writes her own website blog, while developing a social media presence.
